Ottery St Mary Town Council is reminding local businesses that there is still time to apply for the 2026 Shop Front Fund scheme, with the deadline fast approaching on 31 May 2026.
The scheme, which supports businesses across the parish to enhance and improve their shop fronts, has already seen strong interest. Six local businesses have successfully applied so far, taking advantage of the opportunity to invest in their premises and contribute to the vibrancy of the town.
Grants of up to £600 (or 50% of project costs) are available to eligible businesses to support improvements such as repainting, new signage, window displays, and other enhancements. The scheme aims to help improve the appearance of shops and strengthen Ottery St Mary as a welcoming destination for residents and visitors alike.
Dean Stewart, Deputy Mayor and Chair of the Finance and Strategic Planning Committee for Ottery St Mary Town Council said:
“It is fantastic to see local businesses already benefiting from the Shop Front Fund. We would encourage anyone who is considering making improvements to their premises to submit an application before the deadline. There is still time, but we encourage businesses not to leave it too late.”
