Biography
I have lived in and around Ottery St Mary all my life. I attended The King’s School, have family connections across the town, and now live locally with my wife and daughter. My wife, a former teacher, now works supporting families in need, and our daughter attends The King’s School.
I have dedicated my career to supporting communities across Devon, with particular experience in rural community development, mental health, youth services, and voluntary sector leadership. I am currently Head of Business Development at Devon Communities Together, where I work with communities, charities, public sector organisations and funders to strengthen rural services, tackle isolation, improve wellbeing and create opportunities for people and places to thrive. Previously, I served as Chief Executive of Action East Devon and have held a range of leadership roles supporting young people, families and communities across the county.
Community involvement has always been important to me, and I stood as a councillor because I wanted to play a practical role in helping make Ottery St Mary the best place possible for local people to live, work and raise a family. Throughout my professional and voluntary work, I have seen the difference that strong communities can make to people’s lives, and I am committed to helping our town continue to flourish.
As a Councillor, I am passionate about supporting young people, strengthening community wellbeing, protecting our local environment and ensuring Ottery has a sustainable future. I believe we should continue to develop as a town that champions good mental health, provides opportunities and support for children, young people and families, values its rural character and works closely with residents to shape local decisions.
Outside of work and council duties, I enjoy food and drink, walking our spaniel, art and spending time outdoors with my family.
