Ottery St Mary Town Council seeks a Councillor to represent Tipton St John by Co-Option.

Following an uncontested election at the end of May Matt Williamson was automatically elected as a Councillor for the Tipton St John Ward. The Council needs one more Councillor to represent Tipton St John.

This will not be by election, but instead the co-option method will be used where the existing Councillors choose from those candidates wishing to apply.

A Council spokesman said, “We are looking for someone to join the Council and share your enthusiasm and experience. Candidates do not need any special skills as all training will be given.”

You do need to be at least 18 years of age, British or a citizen of the Commonwealth, registered to vote and either live, work or own property in the Parish of Ottery St Mary for at least the last 12 months.

This is a great opportunity to make a difference to your community and have a real impact on improvements and the types of services available in and around the Parish.

This will mean attending the full Council meeting held on the 1st Monday of the month and you can join other committees and working parties matching your interests.

The closing date for entry is 5pm, Friday June 30th. The Councillor will be chosen at the Full Council meeting to be held on Monday 3rd July 2023 starting at 7pm in the Tipton St John Community Hall.

To apply please contact the Council CEO Kerry Kennell on ceo@otterystmary-tc.gov.uk or visit this page to apply online or download an application form.
