Ottery St Mary Library is a light, bright, and engaging public library and we welcome people of all ages to come and use our facilities. We always have some toys, games, and puzzles available for babies, toddlers and children to play with. We have a colourful and inviting area for the younger children as well as a cosy corner for teens. The library holds a wide selection of books, audiobooks, and local studies stock.
In addition to this, each week we host the following children’s activities:
Bounce & Rhyme – every Friday 09:30 – 10:00. Free to attend, just drop-in. Songs & stories for babies, toddlers and preschoolers.
Baby Weigh – every Friday 10:00 – 12:00. Pop in to the library to weigh your baby.
Lego Club – every Friday 16:00 – 17:00. Come along and create and play with our Lego. Free to attend, just drop-in.
Children’s Book Club. Aimed at 9-11 year olds. Monthly on a Saturday. Please enquire at the library for more info.
We have a Secret Book Quest reading challenge. This is a 50-book reading challenge designed for primary school aged children. Free to join, please enquire at the library for more information.

Ottery St Mary Library is part of Libraries Unlimited, the charity which run Devon Libraries.
The library is supported by a very active friends’ group. Ottery St Mary Tourist Information Centre are also based in the library.
