There are several different proposals on the table, including options that would change council boundaries and create new unitary councils. Some ideas include:
🔹 Introducing Neighbourhood Area Committees (NACs) – local groups bringing together councillors, town/parish councils, community organisations and services.
🔹 Possible new responsibilities for local committees, such as local highways, parks, community centres, and small‑scale projects.
🔹 Different levels of community involvement depending on the model.
🔹 Some proposals keep current boundaries, others change them.
🔹 All aim to improve local services and strengthen local decision‑making.
This is a big decision that will affect how services are delivered, how councils work together, and how local communities — including Ottery St Mary — are represented.
