ICCM LogoOttery St Mary Town Council is a member of the Institute of Cemetery and Crematorium Management (ICCM) which is a national body, providing policy and best practice guidance to Burial and Cremation authorities since 1913. The aim of the ICCM is to raise standards for bereaved people, developing and promoting best practice in cemeteries and crematoria. This aim reflects the Council’s commitment to giving the best possible service to those buried in our cemetery, and those mourning their loss.

Ottery St Mary Town Council Cemetery is owned by Ottery St Mary Town Council, and managed by them. The cemetery has burials and interment of ashes from 1942 to the present day. The cemetery is located in Higher Ridgeway, Ottery St Mary, Devon EX11 1DT. Click here to view a map of the town. The Cemetery has been identified by a red hashed area.

Requests to reserve a plot may be made through the CEO or Deputy CEO but arrangements for a burial or interment of ashes is arranged through an undertaker. Both require the purchase of an Exclusive Right of Burial (EROB). To view our booklet entitled Grave Ownership and Deed Transferral click here.

As well as a Burial Register and a register for EROB purchases, we have a spreadsheet for all the burials and internments in our cemetery. Click here, and open the document that appears at the bottom of the screen, with personal; information removed. Names are arranged alphabetically and can be viewed alongside our Cemetery Plan by clicking here and opening the document that appears at the bottom of the screen.

The Cemetery Fees document can be downloaded here.  Fees are updated regularly

Click here to see the Cemetery Rules and Regulations. These have taken a great deal of time to put together and will be reviewed regularly.

If you have any queries about a possible burial or interment of ashes in the cemetery, which you cannot answer by looking at the documents above, please contact the Town Council between the hours of 10am and 1pm Monday - Friday.
